Crafty Sentiments

Good morning everyone. I'm very sorry I'm late to the party today with my make for the Graph'It Markers colouring challenge blog. I had such a hectic weekend with my sister winning last minute tickets to go see Robbie Williams in London, eeeeeek I was so excited. And it was on Sunday when I usually get my GI make ready for today. Anyhoo here it is, better late than never eh?

This week we are being sponsored by the fab Crafty Sentiments and I got to play with Fifi Bubbles.

Isn't she a cutie!
The papers, bird and butterfly are from the Twiggy & Toots collection from Polkadoodles.

The colours I have used are:
Skin: 4120, 4125, 4150, 3120, 4135

Christmas blues

Good Morning and Happy Choosday everyone, and that of course means that it is
as well. So after you're done here don't forget to go over to the Digi Choosday blog to grab the code and of course check out my talented teamies makes.
The challenge for you is of course anything goes but for the team this week the challenge is Christmas decorations in Blue and White, and here is my make.

This started out life as a plain chipboard decoration shape. I used  Octavia Frosted Winter to create it, along with the help of some frosted snow from Embellishment attic. I covered the base with one of the papers and roughed up the edge with some sandpaper. I then painted a line of white Gesso around the edge. I then sat for ages and fussy cut all the embellies I wanted to use. I then added some of the frosted snow where I wanted it. I had a play around with where to place the embellies until I was happy with where they were before gluing them all in place.
I have to admit when this was finished and I stood back to look and make sure I was happy with it I did a little squeal as I really loved it. That doesn't happen often with me so when it does it makes me very happy lol

I'm entering this into the following challenges:

Christmas

Good morning to you all. Well it's beginning to look an awful lot like Christmas around here. In truth I have been making Christmas things since July for my various DT's so I have lots of Christmas stuff hanging around.
It's time for a new challenge over at the Polkadoodles blog. The challenge for the team this time is Christmas, so we can make anything we like. The challenge for you of course is always anything goes, but you can play along with us if you like.
Even though this is the first Christmas decoration you are seeing from me it's actually the second one I made. I often do things out of order as I get on a roll and don't want to stop lol
So for this that started out as a plain and boring chipboard shape I used the Octavia Frosted Winter collection. I started by gluing a paper onto the bauble and distressing the edge with some sand paper. I then daubed some white Gesso around the edge. I then fussy cut a lot of embellies and added some frosted snow from Embellishment attic. I place them on the shape until I was happy with the layout and then glued them into place. I'm really happy with how this turned out and it will be hung on my tree as my colour theme for that is pink and purple.

Congratulations

Good morning again, as I said yesterday I'm here again to show you more makes using Stamps By Me products.
These card are made using the Congratulations stamps and scratch off stickers.
Once again the stamps stamped perfectly, leaving a crisp clear image behind. I stamped this ever so cute Elephant onto water colour card for these two makes and used water colour pencils to colour them in. I then stamped the messages into the balloons and put a gold scratch sticker over one and a silver one over the other. And once again they scratched off so easy leaving no residue behind whatsover.

I also made another couple of cards using the Sending You stamp set.
This one I created an inked background and coloured the flower in using Gansai Tambi watercolour paints and added the scratch sticker over the message in the flower centre.
I chose a silver for this one as it goes well with the blues.
I then made another one using Gansai Tambi watercolur paints. I made this background by just flicking and splashing some of the paints onto watercolur card. I didn't use a sticker on this card as I wanted to colour the centre of the flower.

Here's a close up of the background.
That's it for now, but I'm sure I'll be buying more of these stamps in the future so keep your eyes peeled for them.

New goodies

Good morning everyone. Yes it's Wednesday and I'm blogging, you've not got your days mixed up.
Did you see the Stamps By Me show on Create and Craft a few weeks back? No, well if you see them coming again please watch the show as there were some fabulous products on there. One of the things that caught my eye was the Stamp and Scratch products. Well I was that impressed with seeing something new on C&C that I left a message telling the lovely Toni Darroch just that. After we had a little chat Toni asked if I would try the products and write a post letting you know what I thought of them. So here you are.
First off I used the Sending You stamp set and scratch off stickers. I stamped a background using the masking method, (I will show this below for those that have never done it). The flower stamped perfectly every time, leaving a crisp and clear image behind. I then coloured the background with Prisma pencils and a white pen. I then stamped the flower again on it's own to use as a topper and stamped a message in the centre of it. I put the card together using black card for matting to make the images pop.
I then used one of the silver Scratch stickers over the sentiment.
And then got scratching with a coin. As you can see it worked perfectly! It was really very easy, easier than scratch cards you buy in the shops to be honest.
Here you can see it partly scratched off.
And here it is fully scratched off. It left a clear glossy sticker behind that as you can see doesn't stop you in anyway seeing the message underneath, the only giveaway it was ever there is the glossy finish it leaves behind. Which to be honest I like, it's like glossy accents without the mess you can make of it. So yes, I would definitely recommend these products to anyone. The stamps are perfect, great quality polymer and crisp clear images every time. And the scratch stickers are great fun, I bet little people would love these on their cards. And I suspect quite a lot of adults would as well to be honest as they're so different.
So for those that have never done masking before here is how I did it.
You start by stamping the image a few times onto either post it notes, if they are big enough, or copier paper if not. I used copier paper as the stamp is quite large. You then go around the back of the image with a glue pen that when dry is repositionable. All Sakura glue pens do this, the ones that when the glue is wet it is blue.
You then stamp your first image where you want it on your card and place the mask over it.

Then stamp your next image where you want it. Then stick another mask over that one if needed and carry on stamping and masking until you have the background you want.
I used three masks to create the background I wanted. As you can see it allows you to create a background without any stamps covering another one, just like if you laid lots of real flowers over the top of each other. And when you've done keep your mask safe in the stamp packet so you can use them again.
Please pop by tomorrow to see another few makes from me using these and more Stamps By Me products.

Christmas gift wrapped

Good Morning and Happy Choosday everyone, and that of course means that it is
as well. So after you're done here don't forget to go over to the Digi Choosday blog to grab the code and of course check out my talented teamies makes.
The challenge for you is of course anything goes but for the team this week the challenge is Christmas Gift Wrapped in Red and Green. So it can be any type of wrapping, whether you make your own wrapping paper, make a box or decorate a bag like I have.
I have used Picknix collection 3, Nordic Winter for this make. I have used 2 papers for the background with a black line around them to separate them. I then created my own topper using a frame, the santa image and some embellies. I did this in the My Craft Studio program but it can be done in Serif or even in MS Word. I then printed and fussy cut some flowers, foliage and some buttons and glued in place. I added some liquid pearls to the centre of the flowers to finish it off.

I'm entering this into the following challenges:

Oh I do like to be beside the seaside!

Good morning everyone. I'm here today with some mid Challenge inspiration for the Polkadoodles blog. The challenge for us that started last week was to make something to do with the seaside. But for you it is anything goes. And here is my make.
I spent ages and aged looking for some seaside and beach themed stamps to make some home decor for my new summer house which has a beach theme. So when Nikky Hall launched these I was more than a little bit giddy lol So I needed to make a door sign so I had bought a plain MDF plaque from the MDF man at Doncaster so used that for this.
I used one of the plainer papers from the Winnie Starfish and Sandcastles collection as a back ground. I then used the Tropical Oceans stamp set to stamp some background images onto the paper. I then stamped the porthole and the beach hut and coloured them in so they stood out. Finally I used a few of the MDF pieces from the Nautical large MDF embellies set. I painted them with some paint I had in my cupboard and then glued them in place.

Ribbon and lace

Good Morning and Happy Choosday everyone, and that of course means that it is
as well. So after you're done here don't forget to go over to the Digi Choosday blog to grab the code and of course check out my talented teamies makes.
The challenge for you is of course anything goes but for the team this week the challenge is to use either ribbon or lace, or both, and here is my make.

I used the amazing Winnie In Wonderland collection to create this gatefold card. You can buy this in smaller kits HERE if you don't want the full kit, but why wouldn't you, it's amazing!
So I chose a paper and matted onto black card for the front, then chose a paper and digitally cut a heart frame out for the inside to write a message on. I also matted this onto black card. I then chose my images, the red Queen and the White Rabbit and printed them out 4 times so I could decoupage them. I then printed out some embellie. I made the decoupage up and mounted all the embellies onto 3D foam to give the card dimension. I then added real bows over the printed ones on the right hand side, and added an extra ribbon triple bow over the playing cards.
This is the inside of the card.

And here are a few close ups of the dimension I got with the decoupage.
I printed everything for this onto matt photo paper so the colours stand out more.

 And finally the bows.
